I Wish That I Knew Now When I Was Younger

Dress: Vintage
Cardigan: H&M
Tights: M&S
Shoes: Primark

This dress has been one of my wardrobe staples since I bought it last summer before my trip to Sweden. I have never owned a dress that I could remix quite so many ways and still love it every single time I get it out of the wardrobe.
I wore this outfit for a friends birthday and then again at the day after the wedding where we all got together for more food and drinks and even some entertainment from bagpipes. Going back to Ireland was exactly what I needed after a hectic summer it was nice to get back to family and take things slow. I miss it already and can't wait to get back there. It's such a beautiful place and if you ever get a chance, you should definitely visit!
Filming for a short film I've been producing starts tomorrow and I'm super nervous. I always turn into a big ball of anxiety whenever it gets to filming so it'll be a highly strung four days for me. Then I'm off to Leeds for a week with Mel to sort out our house a little more including getting an internet connection. I will be vanishing again for about a week but as soon as I get a chance to get online, I will be back.

Grapevine

Dress: Urban Outfitters
Cardigan: H&M
Shoes: Primark
Necklace: Gift

I'm currently sat in an attic bedroom in Ireland about to get ready for my cousin's wedding. I feel like there's been so much stuff going on in my life recently that I've failed to keep my blog up to date with what I'm actually doing. I've got a busy few weeks of travelling up and down the country when I get back from this little trip but I'd rather be busy than bored.
This is the outfit I'll be wearing to the wedding later. It's a really casual, homely wedding with the ceremony in a local church then the reception in a marquee in their garden. Gardens in Ireland aren't exactly the same thing as gardens at home as my family live out in the countryside near Kilkenny. It's sure to be a lovely day, seeing lots of people I wish I got to see more often. My irish family are some of my favourite people but obviously visiting can't happen too often any more. We used to spend lots of summers here when we were younger, playing with the sheep, riding the mini-tractor or kayaking down the river in the village. It's strange being back here after a few years away but not much has changed.
P.S I know it looks like I blend in with the cream dress and I know I'm pale but this time it was just a bit bright when taking photos!

Five Years Time

Top: Tesco
Cardigan: Topshop
Shorts: Vintage
Shoes: New Look
Bag: Vintage

Another lovely day was spent in London with Laura yesterday. We started the afternoon with a picnic in Regents Park before walking down the canal and up to Primrose Hill to take in the lovely view. After lounging around we walked back to Camden town and met up with our friend, Dom, who is living in London for her year in industry. We spent the evening watching Adventure Time and planning parties for Dom to come back to Leeds for.
It was a really warm day despite the sun being hidden behind clouds for most of it. I had hopes of getting a small tan this summer to take the ghostly look of my skin but unfortunately, it looks unlikely. I will forever be a milk bottle.

I Swore Not To Say I Loved You In Song

Dress: Dorothy Perkins
Belt: Vintage
Shoes: Vintage
Hat: Charity Shop
Badge: Gift

"There are countless things in life I wish I could capture and hold on to. Capture on film, distill into a photograph or find the right words to cling onto someone else’s senses, wrapping around until the feeling is in their bones too.
The summer train rides home from the city. If only I could keep hold of that exact colour of light that fills the carriage as the sun sets outside. Half blinding and half intoxicating as everything appears beautiful in the glow. If I could pause, outside of it all, and memorise the caress of the breeze against necks, whipping up those soft hairs with that song playing in your ears. The satisfaction of being on your way. Even if your destination is nowhere special, the happiness spreading like warmth through your limbs makes you forget.
One day I'll be able to curl my fingers around those moments and grasp them tightly until, in the grips of winter, I can crawl under the covers, peel back my fingers and soak in those feelings again. To feel it all again."

An easy summer outfit to soak up the sunshine.

Rapture

Top: H&M
Cardigan: H&M
Shorts: Vintage
Shoes: New Look

Dear Bank Balance,
I would like to offer my sincerest apologies for how much I have been abusing you recently. I know I promised this summer I was going to save my pennies for a holiday or to store away for when I graduate but it's never so easy in real life. There's always sales and vintage shorts that fufill the search that's been going on for months. I'm well aware there is no room left in my wardrobe and I have a massive pile of clothes to sell on ebay but I just can't seem to help myself. I need a new camera, only a point and shoot not a whole new DSLR, so I'm going to promise you and myself that if I don't buy any clothes for a month I will treat myself to a new camera. If that seems counter-productive then you clearly haven't been paying attention to my receipts either. It'll be a big remix month and a challenge for summer.
Love,
A chronic spender.

I wore this for my little brothers birthday meal as the weather decided to take a turn for the worse.

Antlers And Hooves

Top: New Look
Skirt: Vintage
Shoes: Urban Outfitters
Necklace: Gift

Brick Lane is one of my favourite places in London. There's an endless amount of vintage shops to pull the money out of my purse, lovely cafes for a break in between and there's always people wandering around to steal inspiration from. After a successful job interview yesterday, I headed there to spend some time with my friend Laura. We're moving in together up in Leeds, along with Mel, but luckily we live close enough at home that we get to spend time in summer together too.
It was another scorcher so crop top and skirt was the only option really. The only thing about London in the summer is getting on the tube is disgusting! I've got a whole month of travelling in rush hour to look forward to when I head back to my office job in August. Groan!
My summer is filling up so quickly, what with this new producer job, my office job and a trip to Ireland for a wedding. I'm hoping to also fit in a trip to Leeds to settle in to the new house, a road trip to Brighton to enjoy the beach and maybe even a little holiday in September. Good thing I enjoy planning so much. Hope everyone's summer is going swimmingly!

You Wanted A Hit, But Maybe We Don't Do Hits.

Shirt: Vintage
Tee: American Apparel
Shorts: H&M
Shoes: Vintage

I finally got my new bike! Here are the first phots I took with it. Admittedly the outfit isn't very exciting but it was perfect for a lovely bike ride out to a local village then into town for lunch and a thrifting mission. I haven't ridden a bike in a couple years because my last one was stolen but this one signals the start of a very active and adventure filled summer. I'm already planning a picnic for Monday.

Now that I have a mode of transport other than my own two legs I'm looking forward to hunting out some really cool photo locations. I kept with shorts for this ride because I wasn't sure how well a dress would fare but I've decided to either slip on shorts or cut off leggings underneath and off I'll go. I'm hoping this will help me get more in shape, I've been eating healthy and seeing a bit of improvement but combined it should work a lot faster.

On my little thrifting hunt, I finally found a straw hat that fits me properly! It has a lovely blue bow on it too. I also found a few other bits including a ring which is pretty. I really want to expand my jewellery collection because it's definitely lacking at the moment. I've never been that into it but now I'm going to show a bit more interest because I love what jewellery adds to an outfit. What's your favourite piece of jewellery?

You Gotta Answer To Yourself

Dress: Forever 21
Top: H&M
Shoes: Vintage
Badge: Craftacular
Necklace: Etsy

Not many photographs from this outfit. It's a bit less feminine than my usual style, more leaning towards how I used to dress I guess. I am just in love with that stripy tshirt for some reason. I want to wear it with everything in my wardrobe and one day I will!

I've only got two more days at work this week then a week off then one more week at work before freedom. I'm planning the rest of my summer right now. I ordered my bike to come on Friday and I'm about to book my tickets for my trip up to Leeds at the end of August to see some friends/start job hunting.

I've just finished my pigeon and snail society package.
The theme was by the sea and mine includes:

blue and green nail varnishes
a nautical badge
red bow hair clips
a rope bracelet
a beach house cd
a shell necklace

I really hope the person who gets my package appreciates it cause I put a lot of thought into it. It's such a great project, I'm glad I'm involved.

It Looks Like That You've Got More To Learn

Dress: Peacocks
Jacket: H&M
Wedges: Tk Maxx (birthday gift)

This is actually a 'what I would have worn' outfit post. I went on a date on Friday night for dinner and a movie with the boyf and I planned to wear this but I didn't have the wedges or the jacket with me at my dad's house which is where I came from to go to the date straight from work so I ended up wearing something different which I'll take photos of another time. I wanted to take advantage of the warm weather so I slipped this on for photos so you can see how I would style up this dress that I love!

After hunting high and low for scalloped shorts or scalloped anything, I stumbled across this after I'd given up hope. In the sale. With Student Discount. This dress cost me a measly £9 and it has scallops! It's a lovely summer dress and I can see it transitioning to autumn with a bit of crafty accessorising with wooly tights and a beret. I need to wear these wedges more, I'm still a bit shaky on them. I think I'll wear them this saturday, regardless of our plans.

I'm in need of a haircut. But DilemmaDilemma, I don't know what to do to it?! Do I get the fringe cut back in? Do I ask for no layers so I can carry on wearing it curly? Do I cut it short? Help me! Any suggestions would be great! I've been trying to go it long but it needs a cut as its in bad condition at the moment.

There's a close up of my Canterbury badge and my Charlie Chaplin dog badge. Badges are definitely my favourite accessory. I'm including one in my Snail and Pigeon society package. Is anyone else involved in the project? My package is nearly ready!

Any Way You Run, You Run Before Us

Dress: TK Maxx
Hat: Primark

This is a very simple outfit that I've worn multiple times over the past few weeks because it keeps me so cool. The dress makes me feel very little house on the prairie and everyone always comments on it. I felt it went perfect with my straw hat but I really must find one that fits my massive head so I can wear it out!

So I have a favour to ask you all. I edited my top photo in Photoshop using the skills I remember from my photography class in college but then I ran out of time and did the others in iPhoto. Which photos do you prefer? I think the photoshopped ones look more professional personally but what is your opinion?

Today I got sent home sick from work again. I think it's the heat that makes me sick but who knows with me. My immune system is an actual joke. I slept all afternoon and then this evening, I watched Frida. It was amazing and I recommend it to everyone, even people who may not have seen her work before. It's a great story and it's brilliantly done.

I think if anyone asked me to describe my style, the words floral would definitely pop up. I wear so much of it! I apologise if it bores you but I can't get enough of it. I found an amazing Laura Ashley dress in the charity shop yesterday and surprise, surprise it's floral! I also found an amazing treasure which I'm hoping to post about tomorrow. I won't be able to use it in outfit posts for a while though which is a bummer!
I'm going to leave you with some lovely photos I got from tumblr. The origin for some is unknown I'm afraid as they've been on my laptop for months now. Those that I do know, click below the photo for the link.

Big Echo

Dress: Cath Kidston
Cardigan: H&M
Sandals: Topshop
Bag: Topshop
Badge: shop in Whitstable

On Saturday 10th July, I headed over to Bethnal Green to go to the Bust Craftacular. It was held in an old hall and we got there a little bit early because I was hoping for a goodie bag. There was a huge queue when we got there but it moved fast and I still managed to get a goodie bag! Win! It was £2 entry and definitely worth it, even just for the cool stuff you got in the bag. The event was linked with etsy and it was just like etsy, in real life. I'd definitely recommend these kind of events.

I bought a couple of things including two prints for my room at uni and two cards that I'm going to frame too. A couple of badges and I made me own bracelet too at the Tatty Devine table. It was all very craftsy and there was tons more I would have bought if I had had the money including a lovely C necklace and a gorgeous handmade polka dot dress which was just out of my price range entirely. Got lots of business cards to check up on once I have some more spare money knocking around. After the Craftacular, we headed to Spitalfields, where these were taken, for lunch at Giraffe. We spent the afternoon browsing shops and I fell in love with the round rayban sunglasses. I saw a girl wearing them on the tube today and got a pang of need need need. For dinner, we headed over to Islington for dinner at The Diner, which was amazing! Pancakes for dinner and cherry cokes for drinks. Farewell diet for the night!

This dress was great for keeping cool, the longer length was more comfortable because I wasn't always self concious of it riding up and exposing anything. I wore my cardigan most of the day which thinking back was a silly idea as it was really warm. I just love how summery and feminine and ladylike this outfit. Like I said, I love the longer skirt look and although this isn't as long as some on the runway, I think this is a length I would happily wear everyday. I got the dress on a trip to Brighton last summer and have only worn it a few times. I'm going to try and style it up a bit more.

I also got a compliment on my badge which is a dog dressed as Charlie Chaplin! So cute.
I kind of broke my no new clothes shopping rule this past week because I found some things in the sales that I couldn't turn down. Had no luck with charity shops recently either, found things but not that I like enough to part with my money over. I say if they're there when I go back then I will pick them up.
I'm putting together my present for the Pigeon and snail society project and it's been really fun thinking up things for the 'by the sea' theme.

My Body Is A Cage

Top: Charity Shop
Cardigan: Topshop
Shorts: H&M
Shoes: Primark
Locket: Gift via etsy

This is what I wore when I moved into my new house in Leeds. I really need to catch up with outfit posts because that feels like forever ago! I got this top and thought I could get away with wearing it as a dress but on the day it was too hot for leggings so I opted for shorts instead.

I think I may have finally found a bike and it's actually a new one instead of a second hand one because I found it for a very reasonable price and they deliver it too! Just got to order it this week. I feel like I've had a sudden loss of money what with the flights and hotels and now this bike. I'm even considering working for an extra week despite my passionate hate for the job. Just a short one as I'm tired of staring at my computer screen after a day at the office.
