Never Meant A Word of It

Top: Zara
Skirt: ASOS
Cardigan: H&M
Shoes: UO
Badge: SF Aquarium

Monochromatic dressing with a splash of colour is so much easier than any other way of dressing. If it wasn't coming into the warmer months I might have stuck to it. I felt quite french in this outfit and I've no clue why! I had a meeting about third year dissertation films and a night of watching As Told By Ginger at my friend Dom's house. It was a good one, one of those days that is perfect after the stresses of exams. I also ate far too many packets of Quavers.
I'm meant to be in post-production for the film I shot over Easter but things keep getting in the way so hopefully tomorrow we can start cracking on. I've also been offered an interview for a job as a producer for a short film in London over summer. The film has a budget and a professional crew which would be a great stepping stone for when I graduate as at the moment I'm only a pro at making films guerilla style with no budget at all. We shall see what happens!

Silent Signs

Dress: H&M
Cardigan: H&M
Beads: Gift
Shoes: Urban Outfitters
Bag: Zara

One of the things I love about living in Leeds is the way that you always find fun things like this lurking around corners when you're walking around. Perfect photo opportunity!
Yesterday I sat my last exam and finished my second year of university. That's terrifying to say because it means only one more year here before I have to go out in the real world, find a job and move to London. I hate how fast university is disappearing because I love it here so much. It's become my home. I would happily stay in Leeds for a few years after graduation but the reality of job prospects is what it comes down to. Sigh, I hate having to be an adult.
Anyway, I went out to celebrate last night with a meal that involved sitting in a restaurant for three hours with twenty friends waiting eagerly for our food and then dancing in town in the bar next door to the club we paid to get into. It was a good farewell to the stresses of second year and a good welcome to summertime.

Sometimes

Dress: F21
Cardigan: Topshop
Necklace: ASOS
Shoes: Urban Outfitters
Headband: Primark

Today I learnt the hard way that I'm just not cut out for the world of hairbands. I think of them now as torture devices. I inflicted myself with a headache just from wearing this feathered number. It didn't help that it was worn to a revision session but I'm still gonna blame the headband.
Any excuse to get out of the house/library is jumped upon in the land of exam period. Today, I got lunch and chatted for hours before finally giving in and revising with Mel. It's my last exam tomorrow and I'm already acting as if I've finished. Tut tut Chloe!
But tomorrow I really will be finished and then the madness will begin. I've got trips, nights out, meals, gigs and other fun things all jammed into the next few weeks before I move home for the summer. It also involves a lot of bonding time with my bed as I catch up on all the sleep this rubbish stress has cost me. Oh, how I've missed you bed!

Towers

Top: ASOS
Cardigan: H&M
Shorts: Vintage
Shoes: New Look
Bag: Vintage

This isn't what I'd normally wear to the library but since I've developed a habit of curling up on my chair while revising, skirts and dresses are out of the window. Leather shorts aren't exactly appropriate for a study session but who cares? I always get comments on them, someone even shouted 'Hey legs!' at me in the street but I can't blame them really. I hated leather shorts for the longest time but I can't deny now I own a pair, I love them.
My first exam is on Monday and my second and last is on Thursday. I'm nearly done with all the reading and so I plan to spend the weekend going over the mountains of notes I have, hoping something will stick. Wish me luck!
I'm not the best person with stress, I get headaches and my sleep pattern and appetite fall out of whack so I really can't wait for the next week to be over. Then it's on to celebrating. Seven more days to go.

We Shook Hands But I Don't Remember When

Dress: Primark
Cardigan: H&M
Shoes: Urban Outfitters
Bag: Vintage

It's been a long time since I've bought a piece of clothing from Primark but when I set eyes on this boat print dress, I couldn't say no. I decided to go slightly house wife in my styling for a hung over day in the library and Laura obliged in snapping these for me on a quaint street on campus. I didn't realise how bright these tights were until I stepped out into the sunlight but I've ended up quite fond of them. They fit in nicely with my ever expanding collection of coloured tights.
My life currently revolves around the library. It's quite disgusting! I got there at 9.30 this morning and left to come back home at 5. I'm in at 9 again tomorrow as well. Dedication! I'm one of those people that really cares about grades and I want to graduate with a first so knuckling down is my only option. Sometimes I wish I could be carefree and not be fussed but it's just not how I'm wired. Hope everyone else is coping well with the end of year stress.

My Heart is a Drummer

Dress: TBA
Socks: ASOS
Shoes: UO

That's right. On my first day of no tights in England, it turned out to be the windiest day I've ever witnessed. Add on to this the fact I was wearing a silk dress, getting splattered by occasional rain showers and was in a part of town I'd never been before and you could say that this was an adventure. I wanted to share these pictures anyway because it took a lot of effort to take of my coat and pose in front of a glass fronted office. As we were leaving, my dress blew up over my head right in front of a business man going out for lunch. At least I gave him a story to tell on his return to the office.
This dress has been popping up over the blogosphere and I couldn't resist. I wanted to add some TBA to my wardrobe because all their designs are so wonderful. This is actually going to be my birthday dress as well but I couldn't resist giving it a wear before hand. Continuing my run of dressing 10 years younger than I really am, I paired it with my knee highs and t-bars. I paid the price.
I was talking to my friend and we realised I either dress like a school girl or like a grandma, barely ever dress my own age. Does anyone else do that? Dressing like a responsible soon to be 21 year old seems so boring when there's so many other options out there.

Matter of Time

Blouse: Charity shop
Cardigan: Topshop
Skirt: ASOS
Shoes: Urban Outfitters
Bag: Vintage

This blouse is one of my favourite colours. I decided to pair it with some of my other favourite colours to make yet another school girl inspired outfit. It doesn't help that I dress like a school girl when I already have a face that looks about 15. Must learn to dress like an adult.
I'm deep in the midst of revision hell right now, ploughing through books and exhausting my hand taking notes. There's one module that I will practically have to learn from scratch due to the awful teaching but there's another module that I'm actually looking forward to revising because I enjoyed it so much the first time round. Any revision tips? I'm trying to take regular breaks and drink lots of water but it's so easy to get distracted.
Things might be a little quiet around here while I struggle through with all of this boring stuff. Apologies in advance!

The Walk

Dress: F21
Cardigan: H&M
Shoes: New Look
Belt: Vintage
Bag: Vintage
Necklace: gift via etsy

My campus is full of contradictions. There are the ugly 80's buildings, the anti-social staircases and the anonymous grey walkways surrounded by the lovely old fashioned buildings with high ceilings and grand pillars. Then there's this space, home to a graveyard, a crypt and endless greenery. It's part of the charm of having a campus university I guess.
I already have a bunch of remix ideas for this dress so get used to seeing it here. I got a lot of compliments on it which always makes me like an item of clothing more. Maybe everyone was just in a happy mood that day though because it was our final hand in.
I'm trying to figure out what to do with my summer at the moment. I could go to New York after my birthday for a week or I could wait and go later in the summer for a bit longer when it's going to be sweltering. Or I could stay at home and apply to endless internships. I could even go back to my office job for a while if I wanted to. I want to have a mixture of everything but I'm gonna need to make some decisions for that to happen. Why am I so indecisive!? What are your summer plans?

Something, Somewhere, Sometime

Dress: Zara
Jacket: H&M
Shoes: New Look
Bag: Vintage

We took these photos at sunset after a session of pulling teeth to get the group project finished. I really like the way they turned out and I might have to hang around for sunset more often. This was quite an autumnal toned outfit considering the date but the dip in nice weather is the only explanation I can give. And the fact I'm in love with these rust coloured tights and never want to take them off my legs.
I've now entered into the horrible world of revision. I've got a timetable, I've downloaded the lecture slides, I've got a list as long as my arm of books I need to get from the library and I've also got zero motivation! I'm one of those people that puts in a lot of work for all things academic and its really soul destroying when I watch people who dashed out the work the night before without any thought do just as well. I know hard work will get me further when it comes to reality outside of university because you can't blag a career forever but it still gets on my nerves. Doesn't mean I won't still be locking myself away for the next three weeks to gain a close and intimate relationship with all things film theory and world cinema based.

Keep Me In Your Pocket

Dungarees: vintage via UO
Shirt: vintage Cacharel
Shoes: Vintage
'
(what happens when cars drive past us taking photos)
You know it's summer when I get out the dungarees! I was definitely channelling a farmer in this outfit. I even had a straw hat on before leaving the house but that was a step too far. After a quick library session, I headed over to my friend Laura's house for a belated celebration of her birthday with a BBQ. It was nice to see everyone together after the Easter break and the sunshine didn't hurt either. I don't have a garden at the student house and won't have one next year either so it's nice to take advantage of Laura's while it's there. We found some left over moustaches from the last party we held there, anyone else notice the Mario and Luigi resemblence Dom and I have got going on?
I went out to celebrate hand in last night with all my friends, it was so good to have everyone in one place for the first time in forever. You should all check out my friend Rachel's blog here. It's nice to have someone to talk blogs with every now and again and she's such a lovely girl!

I'm not yours anymore

Top: H&M
Shorts: Vintage
Tights: Primark
Bag: Vintage
Oxfords: Below 7

I honestly don't know what I'm going to do for photographs once I move home for summer. I suppose I'll have to master my tripod or tell my mother about my blog. Both will be tricky. How do you take your photos? Either way I love the photos from today. I had a relaxed day of arts and craftsing. I had to prepare my costume for tomorrow's Otley Run. More on that tomorrow though.

I had been looking for high waisted shorts for a while and when I found this bag yesterday I also hit the jackpot with these denim shorts. I had tried on some stone coloured one but these were much better. They're an awkward height on the waist though but I'm sure no one else can really notice that. I had an outfit all planned out but then when I looked out the window in the morning and saw how sunny it was, I knew that wasn't going to work. Does anyone else plan their outfits the night before then get them ruined by the morning?

You've seen this top before but I wore it as a dress. I managed to make it look like a crop top today because it looked awkward tucked completely in so I pulled it out slightly and I loved the effect. I'm really gonna have to experiment with these shorts cause everything I was trying on this morning just wasn't working.

I think I'm also pretty set on keeping this bag now. It's just too much of a good find to sell on but it's pretty timeless so I can always sell it in the future if I need some money. Before I forget, I'm also on Twitter now here. I'd love it if you'd follow me because I don't really have many people to follow on there yet. I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine.
