Passeporte

Dress: H&M
Cardigan: Peacocks
Shoes: Charity shop

The biggest perk of living with two of your best friends, besides all the constant laughs and support whenever you need it, is being able to dive into each other's wardrobes. Laura and I swapped dresses on a few nights out and this one ended up weaselling its way into my wardrobe permanently. It's the perfect aztec print that I searched for for so long. Chances are if she hadn't brought it herself, I would have instead.
The spectrum of colours in it mean it's going to be pretty versatile for remixing so I don't know whether I'll ever be giving this dress back to generous Laura. Sorry!

Let's Stay Together

Top: ASOS
Shorts: Vintage
Boots: ASOS
Cardigan: H&M

I'm writing this the night before filming for my final year short film begins but by the time this posts we'll be a few days deep. It's so weird to think about how scheduled posts work.
Anyway, I wore this outfit in the run up to filming when every day consisted of running around trying to get everything organised without losing my sanity or dignity. I nearly cried when we were collecting equipment and my DOP joked that he hadn't reserved the camera for us, that's how high stress the whole situation has become. I'm such a control freak in most aspects of life so when it comes to filmmaking I tend to get extremely stressed out and anxious. Once I start filming, it all disappears but it's getting over the hurdle of the first day that's the toughest.

The Silver Series

Top: H&M
Shorts: Vintage
Blazer: Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Charity shop

I miss the days when I would take my blog photos against different backdrops nearly every day. Sure, I had my routine places but I always mixed it up most of the time and although I was wonky from carrying my lump of a camera around, I just preferred those days. I know this isn't exactly a step back into that world but I think I want to get back to that routine. It can be very easy to step outside my front door and take my photos before dashing back into the warmth and away from prying eyes. However, sometimes it rains and sometimes that rain is so foul it's easier to just stay indoors.
This isn't my bedroom, it's my housemate Laura's who takes my photos most days. In the summer I did a mini-photo tour of our house but now I've finally put all my bedroom decorations up (only took me 5 months) I might do another one to give you a glimpse of my humble abode.

I Am A Collector

Body: ASOS
Cardigan: H&M
Trousers: Dorothy Perkins
Shoes: Topshop
Necklace: Gift

I've never been a trouser person but recently I've been dabbling a little. It's the lack of definition in my legs that puts me off trousers, it's a little hard to get used to after wearing tights nearly 365 days a year. Most people think that heat is the biggest issue of only wearing garments minus legs but I ended up being chillier in these trousers than I've ever been in shorts and super cosy tights. My poor little frosty ankles.
I put this outfit together the night before my 9AM lecture. Does anyone else do that? I know that I'm not going to be able to dress myself coherently that early in the morning so it just makes sense to pre-plan and then just throw it on while I'm still bleary-eyed and complaining about the cruel scheduling staff at my university who are responsible for my 9AM on a Friday morning!
Happy Valentines day for yesterday.

I Can Be Alone

Dress: Dorothy Perkins
Cardigan: H&M
Shoes: Charity shop
Necklace: Harmonica

Sometimes when I get dressed it's all about the colours for me. This is one of those outfits. I don't wear coloured tights half as often as I used to but I still enjoy popping them into an outfit every now and again. Purple, blue and grey are some of my favourite colours to wear so I just shoved them all together and this is what came out.
I always lament the length of this dress. It would be perfect if it was just one inch shorter but I don't want to sew it up in case I regret it as soon as I do it. I have so many short dresses that it's nice to have the odd longer one to come back to every now and again.

Underwater Bride

Top: Zara
Jeans: Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Vintage
Necklace: Gift

I never thought I would say this but I'm such a lipstick person these days. I feel kind of undone if I leave the house without lipstick because it just finishes off every look so well. I've got quite the collection as well since I got a little addicted to beauty blogs. This bright red isn't as heavily used as some others in my collection but I think it added something to this otherwise plain outfit.
I stole this outfit from a girl I saw in the summer on Oxford Street. Not like I took the clothes off her back but just borrowed the look for inspiration. I've been on the hunt for the perfect baggy striped tshirt every since. She was wearing low cut DMs which I'm also dying to buy but my good old boat shoes did the job this time.

House

Top: H&M
Skirt: Charity shop
Cardigan: H&M
Shoes: Charity shop

This outfit was all covered up yesterday by layers as there was a snow threat in Leeds. The snow never arrived but I was appreciative of the extra warmth anyway. It's just a simple combination but sometimes the simple ones are the best.
I wore it for a day of shopping for a photoshoot, lectures and volunteering at the cinema. I watched 'Dreams of a Life' on my shift and it was a really moving, amazing film looking into the life of a complex woman who just disappeared off the radar. Joyce Vincent was dead for three years in her flat before they found her body. If you haven't heard the story, you need to get googling because it really is fascinating and a little terrifying to think a woman who had so many friends was gone for three years without anyone thinking to look for her.

Little Bear

Jumper: Charity shop
Shorts: Vintage
Vest: ASOS
Shoes: Charity shop
Necklace: stolen thunder

I got really good at taking blog photos everyday for a while there but then I just kind of lost my groove. I'll get back into the swing of it starting tomorrow. This outfit is from last Wednesday when I had a day of lighting tests for the film and an evening of watching one of my favourite bands at my favourite venue, the Brudenell Social Club. I also purchased my first modern LP for my record collection at the gig.
My little record player has been happy making it's way through a solid collection of 7"s and a few borrowed albums for a friend but it's about time I delve into the world of collecting vinyl. It's just such a financial commitment that I didn't think of when I asked for a record player for my birthday. I want to buy the albums that I'll listen to over and over again so give me your recommendations!

Saw You First

Dress: Gift via blogger secret santa
Cardigan: Topshop
Shoes: Charity shop
Necklace: gift

I know Christmas is the last thing anyone wants to hear about anymore but this dress was a gift from the very generous Beka via the Bloggers Secret Santa organised by Laura. It was such a fun little project, I sent my gift off to Taiwan and received one from Washington D.C. That's one of my favourite things about blogging, meeting people you wouldn't normally have a chance to!
Anyway, today I am finally getting my life back in order. I'm normally very organised and prepared but these past few weeks I've turned into a scatterbrain mess so I'm starting my set readings, tidying my room and then cooking dinner for a friend tonight. I hope everyone's weekends are a bit more exciting than mine!

Synthesize

]
Dress: Charity shop
Jumper: H&M Mens
Shoes: Charity shop
Necklace: Gift
Badge: Etsy

There's something extra satisfying about finding gems in charity shops. This dress was lurking in my sewing basket for a few months after I picked it up in the summer and when I went on my big sewing kick a few weeks ago, it finally found a new life as a short reincarnation of its previous self.
I love wearing red, I just think it works great with dark hair and can be really striking. I wore this for an evening of volunteering at the Picturehouse so I wanted to be cosy and comfortable. Those two words keep cropping up when I'm talking about my outfits lately but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing.
Although you can't see it very well in the photos, my badge is displaying a fine moustache to stand in for the fact that I can't grow one myself. Sigh, maybe one day...

Parentheses

Dress: Topshop
Cardigan: Vintage
Shoes: Vintage

I've been so busy lately I haven't been able to find the time to post but I have a backlog of outfit photos that have already been taken so I'll try and work my way through them. This outfit is from nearly two weeks ago now. I got the dress back from my swap with Jasmine and it renewed my love for it, despite it's rather questionable length on me. It was just the right length of Jasmine and every now and again I wish I could shrink to make these type of dresses a little more decent on me.
Anyway, the reason I've been so busy is the start of the new semester of university this week and powering on with getting everything sorted out for filming (which starts in three weeks, ahhh!). I'm taking this weekend off to slow down and get everything back in order so I promise I'll take some time to catch up with everyone's blogs!

You Yes You

Top: H&M
Skirt: Urban Outfitters
Boots: ASOS
Scarf: Ebay
Necklace: Gift

It's very rare that I wear my hair up on the blog and even in real life. Sometimes I don the Heidi braids but other than that, I just prefer my hair down. I've been trying to grow it for a couple of years but I'm getting really tempted to chop it off into a bob like Jordana from 'Submarine'. Someone please talk me out of it because I know I'd miss my hair as soon as it hit the hairdresser's floor.
Anyway, enough about my hair! I wore this outfit for a lazy day of food shopping but since I hate wearing my hair up so much I thought I'd add a pop of colour with a bandana.
I start back at lectures on Monday and I'm dreading trying to get back into a routine.
Anyone got any tips for sorting out a very messed up sleep pattern?
