After some desperate attempts of trying to take my own photos using a tripod, I finally just asked one of my friends at home to take them for me. I should have more luck with the tripod next week once my mum isn't at home and I can work in the garden. I definitely need to brush up on my tripod skills and try and find a remote for my camera. I had one but I've lost it in my room somewhere, how annoying!

I bought these shorts a while ago online and just didn't know how to wear them. It was too boring with just a black tshirt but then on the weekend when I was out bargain hunting I saw a girl wearing floral shorts with a white stripe top and it dawned on me. My mum hated this outfit as she feels its clashing to wear stripes and florals but I love it. The shorts are very short though as they're culottes style and they crinkle up when I sit down too long in them but I like them. It was very sunny outside so please ignore the shadows and squinty eyes.

This is my friend, Tom, who kindly took my photos for me. It's nice being home and being able to see my home friends and I also get to see my university friends on Saturday in celebration for my birthday. I should have a couple more days of photos after this one as my boyfriend is finally coming home from university. Since I've been home I've been watching so many films and television series. Mad Men has become a new obsession.

I love all the sixties fashion and the glamorous Manhattan lifestyle. Definitely made me want to go vintage shopping for some tea dresses and other Mad Men style outfits. Any suggestions for films or tv series I should start watching?

sometimes you just have to ignore your mom and go with your instinct, I love this outfit ;)

if you haven't seen A Single Man yet, you definitely should! great fashion in that, not surprising since Tom Ford did direct it

I'll try and think of some older films too that you might like and get back to you on that

Aww, that really inspires me to go find black oxford heels. And who doesn't love a bit of Don Draper? ;)

Arielle: I absolutely loved A Single Man when I watched it! It does have a Mad Men aesthetic for sure as well. Thanks for the reccommendation.

Claire: Luckily, most of my friends know about my blog once I realised how awful I was with a tripod I knew I'd have to ask them for photos sooner or later. I'm not in Leeds til August now :( But in the new term let me know for sure! Hope you had a good work experience too.
