When England gives you a second chance at summer with a mini heat-wave, it's only polite to embrace the sunshine, throw on a sundress and head down to the river to soak up some Vitamin D. We found this wonderful little retreat while driving to a nearby village and we couldn't resist stopping to sit by the water for a while. If we'd come more prepared, we may have even been tempted into a little paddle. 

This heat has honestly thrown me through a loop though. I was not expecting to have to get my legs out in October and after finally embracing layers, jumpers and boots, it was strange to get back to summer dressing. It was nice while it lasted but luckily, autumn is back in full swing now.

I'm definitely a transitional season kind of person so prepare for a happy Chloe.

I'm going to put together a post with my Berlin photographs but I have so much to share from that city that I want to wait til I have real time to dedicate to it. All you need to know for now is, I am love with Berlin. 

I moved back to Leeds on Saturday and it's good to be back. I'm sharing my house with two of my best friends including my wonderful photographer, Mel, and Laura, who is soon starting her own blog. I'm still in the process of unpacking my room and it kind of looks like a bomb hit it at the moment. Luckily I have more storage space this year but I still own far too many clothes. 

I got this skirt from the swap I did with Jasmine. Mustard is one of my favourite colours at the moment and is perfect for autumn. It felt good to be wearing boots again, it means autumn is really here. Shame it brings coat weather with it too.

Only one more day until I leave for Berlin! I should have some guest posts up while I'm gone to keep the old blog alive and when I'm back I'll, of course, be sharing everything about my trip.

This outfit is something I wore to an afternoon in Brick Lane perusing the shops with Molly. I'm channelling the autumn vibe in the colours of my outfit because I just can't wait for some autumn dressing. I'm definitely a transitional seasons girl, spring and autumn are my favourite seasons. Layering up and getting cosy in knitwear but without having the snow of winter means autumn is perfect for me. I've already made a few purchases for the colder months but I'm still on the hunt for the perfect coat and some new boots. 

The stolen thunder 'i heart tea' necklace I'm wearing is a prize I won a while back in Cait's competition and I have to say a massive thank you to her and to stolen thunder because it's such a cute necklace and gets endless comments. I wore it to my last day of work (where I often get hassled to make tea) and everyone found it was the perfect excuse to ask for a drink!

I have never been a white wall blogger. I don't plan to ever be a white wall blogger. Judging by these photographs that's probably a good choice for everybody involved. It's been rainy for far too long and I was itching to do outfit photos. I had lots of wonderful outfits planned then it rained again so I got cosy. This is the second time ever I've worn jeans on the blog. To be perfectly honest, I've probably only worn them a handful of times more than that in real life too. Jeans are not my item of choice anymore but when it's one of these days there's nothing better than curling up in a too big cardigan and a pair of jeans.

I styled my hair into Heidi braids mainly because I'm trying to avoid heat styling for at least a day a week to get my hair a bit healthier and it was a look I've been meaning to try out for ages. I can't wait until my hair is even longer and then I can really pull this off. For now, it'll remain a rainy day hair style.

This cardigan is also perfect for rainy days, I picked it up in Sweden and it's the definition of cosy. Unfortunately, I have to actually venture out into the rain to go and return some things to the library. What a horrid thought! How do you cope with rainy days?

Becoming A Jackal

This dress is my pride and glory when it comes to thrifting and sewing. I found it at a car boot sale for the measly sum of £2. It was a maxi dress though which just looked awful so I hemmed it shorted with my new to me sewing machine and voila, one of my favourite items of clothing. I'm just a sucker for polka dots and little details like the peep in the neckline and the buttonss

This cardigan is also one of my favourite items of clothing so to be honest, this is just an outfit of all my favourite things. But that's not a bad thing at all. I wore this to my first day of lectures on Monday which actually meant one lecture and an afternoon spent in the union pub with all my friends. It was such a lovely afternoon just catching up and chatting.

It's been raining most of the week so I've been struggling with taking outfit photos but I'll get this sorted as soon as possible. Also, I'm writing my first assignment for the university newspaper. It's a book review of a book called 'Think of A Number'. It's a thriller and it's quite good so far but with these kind of books it's how well the story is sustained and is there enough twists etc. so we will see. How exciting to be published though?

The Fun Powder Plot

I just needed something simple for Sunday Dinner with my housemates and the boyfriend when I felt like I was on my deathbed. The black dress is easy to wear but then I struggled to find the right pairing for it, finally settling on this blouse that I haven't worn in forever for a bit of unexpected layering. I got into the autumn mood with my ankle boots and manned up against my ails to go out for a roast. 

It was ultimately windy when we took these so please excuse how windswept I look. This is the place I took photos in summer and I walked past the other day to see it had changed so I thought why not document it? I know it's awfully cliche to take photos in front of grafitti but hey, it looks cool! This one is a bit more gruesome than the last one but I look forward to walking past and seeing what's new everytime.

Introductions are in order for my new blanket coat. It's literally a blanket someone made into a duffel coat. It's my new favourite item and have definitely produced some love/hate responses in my friends. It really helped me when I was in the pits of illness though to constantly be wearing a blanket. I'd say that's a win!

I'm overwhelmed with the amount of things I'm meant to be doing at the moment. Lectures started on Monday and luckily I get a day off tomorrow to process everything, sort out my schedule and watch some documentaries too. Bare with me while I adjust to my new hectic lifestyle.

I'm honestly in love with these photographs. Willis is actually getting to be a nice little photographer, although I had to set the settings, his composition is much improved. God, I sound like his teacher or something. Really I'm just a grateful girlfriend. Soppy cheese moment over and on to the outfit.

I had been on the search for tweed to inject into my wardrobe and I'm so glad I found these shorts. I call them my grandpa shorts because to be honest my style swings between granny chic and grandpa chic these days. I felt very like Lizzie from Quite Quaint in this outfit so I reckon I must have been channelling her.

We took these in a little wooded area by my house and honestly, sometimes I feel like an idiot hunting out these backdrops and hiding everytime I see someone walking past so they don't think I'm a narcissist. Does anyone else have this problem?

Just a short post as I'm scheduling this one before running downstairs for ladies night with some friends. This involves Bridget Jones' Diary, stuffing our faces and chillin' out (literally) in my basement living room. Hope everyone has had wonderful weeks!

I finally succumbed and bought into the menswear trend. I've been following it for a while and hunting for the perfect pegleg trousers and finally these fell into my hands. I'm in love with the tailored, high waist fit and navy is my colour for winter too! I kept it quite simple with their first wear, a little pirate or french esque depending on how you see it.

I love red and navy together and the pops of brown too. We had to take these photographs with flash on unfortunately because we left it too late after grabbing dinner to take them. These trousers will definitely be popping up a lot this season though so no need to worry about these pants photos. 

Refreshers week has been so hectic for me, catching up with friends, going out, settling into the house, recovering from hangovers and getting far too much sleep. Classes start next week and I'm looking forward to it but dreading the workload at the same time. It can be stressful doing a half practical half academic course because you have to juggle essays and films and now a photographic portfolio too.

I'm trying to balance my schedule with school and blogging so that this won't be neglected once classes start but really I won't know how it's gonna go until I get into the full swing of things. Any tips for balancing it all?

First outfit post back in Leeds. I'm totally ready for warm dressing now! These past few days have been miserable weather and all I want to do is curl up in wooly tights and my new blanket coat with good friends and a glass of wine. Hopefully this week will feature more of these kind of things. Just wore this for a wander around Fresher's fair and a venture into town.

These photographs were taken inside the Corn Exchange in Leeds. It's full of lovely boutiques and a restaurant down those grand staircases. It was rainy and grey outside so we thought this might be a nicer locale for a backdrop. I've felt ultimately uninspired recently but then I had a light bulb moment and I think I'm set for outfits for a little while longer.

I've been watching documentaries a lot recently, thrown in with the usual mixture of programmes I watch. Anyone got any good recommendations? I feel like sometimes I lose myself too much in fiction so I'm trying to get back to my curious self.

I felt like I was in a Wes Anderson movie in this outfit and I can't quite place why. This shirt was one of my purchases from Sweden and apparently looks like a labcoat when I go round corners, not sure if that was a compliment or not. I wore this on Saturday for a trip into town and lazing around. You'll be sick of this hat by the end of winter but I won't.

I had a thoroughly unsatisfying shopping day in London yesterday, I didn't buy a single thing. I think I'm in a shopping funk. Why is it that when you have money you can never find anything? It's always like that for me and I'm tired of it. I need to splurge. I just can't find anything that fits what I have in mind. Maybe, I need to fit up the charity shops when I get back to Leeds and do some DIYing. 

On my list of DIY's is elbow patches, I love them and want them on everything this winter. This shirt was my first step towards that although I want to put tweed ones on cardigans myself. 

Any tips for how to get out of my fashion funk?

A Watched Pot Will Never Boil

This outfit is a little delayed from when I actually wore it due to all the holiday catch up so please be assured my scabby knee is much improved but my legs are kind of more yellowed from bruises, not a pretty sight. Hopefully soon they'll be back to full working order but now I'm convinced I have a broken toe which has been giving me trouble for the past few months. It's always one thing or the other when it comes to my health.

This bobble hat will be a big player in my winter wardrobe. It's cosy and a versatile colour and it was a bargain so I think it's earnt it's place in heavy rotation with maybe a beret that I'm yet to purchase. This outfit was for pure comfort as it was when I was getting back to normal running after the holiday. I know it's not my normal style but I'm kinda digging it and maybe we'll see a bit more of this leak into my head when getting dressed.

I've got so much to do before I head back up to Leeds on Saturday. Copious amounts of lists are being made, to do, shopping and to pack. It's getting rather overwhelming but I'm sure I'll pull it all together in the next few days, hopefully including some friend time, some shopping in London and some good sleep too.

Something About The Summer

This was the last day of the holiday and my favourite outfit. We spent the morning finishing up things in Malmo then got the train over to Copenhagen where we spent the afternoon in Christianhavn, followed by a lovely meal at Wagamamas then a trip to the airport where we had a long wait ahead of us. They changed our gate at the last minute and didn't announce it but eventually we got on the plane and headed home.

The vest and scarf were vintage finds from the trip and I just really like this nautical themed outfit, love the colours of the scarf especially. We took these photos at a church which had a ridiculously tall spire which you could climb. The stairs were on the outside and needless to say, I was not enthusiastic to go up. After we saw the price tag we decided to sit in their garden instead and drink my slushie.

I'd recommend Scandanavia to anyone for a holiday, it's a lovely place with lots to see and do. It was a lovely break and I can't wait to start planning my next trip to somewhere, I've got itchy feet already.
